This project features, a 7.9ha site, a 2 storey 120 bed Residential Aged Care Facility, a 150 single storey independent living units comprising 8 different unit types to suit different needs and budgets, a Village Lifestyle Centre including community rooms, business centre, library, gymnasium, hairdresser, a chapel, men’s shed and bar and extensive landscaping including a number of themed gardens.
All buildings are designed to achieve a high-quality built product and to minimise ongoing maintenance costs through the life cycle of the building. Each dwelling incorporates , single skin external face brickwork, with an internal timber frame ensuring that all external painting is minimised into the future, high levels of insulation to the walls and ceilings, internal walls are generally metal stud with fire rated plasterboard and set down slabs to wet areas to achieve a seamless threshold for easy access.
Stage 2 was of a substantial scale and as such a number of ESD initiatives were incorporated into the development, targeted to preserve the natural amenity of the site, key initiatives include making use of the existing floodway as an area for water detention.
